Trekking to Corcovado

Duration: 24 hour(s) - Location: State Park of the Atlantic Rainforest - Ubatuba

The Corcovado Peak trekking is an amazing experience that mixes the adrenaline with the peace and calm of nature. Once a trekker has made it to the observation point, he or she will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the entire Northern São Paulo coastline.

Corcovado is one of the highest points of the Atlantic rainforest, from where one can admire the beauty of the seashore from one viewpoint and that of the vast mountain chain and green valleys of the State Park from the other. This trek offers the most amazing views of the region.

This tour is only for real adventure seekers in good physical condition, as sections of the path are steep and difficult.

Itinerary
on this page

The trail to Ubatuba's most famous peak, the Corcovado (which means Hunchback), is difficult. However, the unbelievable scenery makes it worth every step and every bit of effort put in.

It takes about eight hours to reach the top of this 1150 m high mountain, which is situated between crystalline rivers and preserved, rich fauna and flora. The trek begins from Praia Dura on the south side of the mountain and passes through the diverse Corcovado wilderness. It is a steep climb, but really worthwhile.

Distance : 15 km.

Level of difficulty: Hard.

It would be advisable to camp on the mountain and return the next day.  Tents can be provided by the guide, at extra cost, upon request.
