Weather in Ubatuba

Weather-wise, the best time to visit Ubatuba is during the dry season from March through to October when the weather is more stable, it's not too hot or humid, and the beaches are quiet. Summer, from December to March, is the rainiest period. This is also the hottest period and the Brazilian summer holiday time when the city and beaches are packed, and most of the nightlife and festivities occur. Summer temperatures hover around 28°C (82°F) but with high humidity, whilst winter sees an average of around 20°C (73°F).

Brazil's climate varies based on elevation and latitude. So while all places north of Rio de Jeneiro have a warm, tropical climate throughout the year, on the south side, the states of Santa Catarina, Parana, Sao Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul have warm summers and cold winters. The extreme south even witnesses snowfall on some occasions. And for those of you who think the Amazon is a region of sweltering heat will be surprised to know that temperatures here rarely go over 90°F (32°C)! And the weather during the day is usually humid, warm and wet.

In fact, the climate in Ubatuba is pretty humid. While the average temperature is 21ºC, the highs touch about 28ºC and lows 15ºC. So you need to be ready for hot days and humid nights. And remember, the winter months are from June to September and summer extends from November to March, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 40°C (75~100°F). The best time to visit Ubatuba is from March to October when the rains are not as common.
